Esports production company and tournament organiser DreamHack has added a total of 19 esports tournaments to its Atlanta event.
Notable tournaments include a $100,000 (~£87,652) Fortnite event in addition to Rocket League, League of Legends and Super Smash Bros tournaments.
The three-day gaming festival returns to Atlanta following the event’s postponement in September 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Taking place at the Georgia World Congress Center from November 18th-20th, the event also includes a range of bring-your-own-computer (BYOC) tournaments with $35,000 (~£30,637) spilt across eight titles.
Another major event taking place at this year’s event is the DreamHack Starcraft 2 Masters, which will also feature a prize pool of over $100,000. In total, nine fighting game tournaments will take place across titles such as Super Smash Bros., Street Fighter V, Tekken 7 and Guilty Gear Strive, among others.
The organiser’s Atlanta event is the second DreamHack to take place in North America this year. In June, DreamHack Dallas played host to the Intel Extreme Masters CS:GO tournament alongside an amateur Fortnite competition.
Alongside the addition of numerous esports tournaments, DreamHack also revealed its annual Esports Summit taking place on November 17th-18th. According to a release, the summit provides attendees with ‘a comprehensive view of the entire esports ecosystem.’
Throughout 2022, DreamHack has expanded its sports simulation business unit, DreamHack Sports Games. In recent months, it has secured deals with data analytics firm HUDstats and the 2022 NHL Gaming World Championship for the National Hockey League (NHL).
