Rob Martin, the Co-Owner and Chief Experience Officer of North American esports and gaming organisation XSET, has stepped down from his role at the company.

Martin shared the news in a lengthy LinkedIn post but did not detail specific reasons for the departure. He did, however, highlight his journey with the organisation as well as his own personal journey in 2022.

Rob Martin joined XSET relatively recently as part of XSET’s acqui-hiring of talent agency Astoic Management. Martin founded Astoic with his partner Lonnie Anthony in 2013 and saw success in managing talent and brand relations. The company notably represented American rapper Offset and 2K Games Digital Marketing Director Ronnie Singh, as well as a number of other high-profile clients.

Lonnie Anthony still remains the Chief Innovation Officer for XSET at the time of writing.

Throughout his time at XSET, Martin worked on marketing strategies, partner management, and talent management. Although Martin did not share many details regarding his future moves, he did share that he is open to new opportunities, and that he will continue working in the gaming industry.

Rob Martin shared the following via LinkedIn: “As I move on to the next chapter of my professional life, I am beyond grateful to the XSET brand for bringing so many incredible people into my life and giving me the opportunity to lead, teach and learn every day.”

XSET itself has undergone an eventful 2022. The company closed a $15m Series A funding round in July, and recruited former 100 Thieves executive Tim Mulligan as Head of Sales. Interestingly, XSET’s own Co-Founder, Marco Mereu left the company in November 2022 and started his own esports organisation called M80 shortly after.

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
