European World of Warcraft guild Echo Esports has announced a slate of commercial partners for the upcoming Race to World First event, Aberrus the Shadowed Crucible.

Alongside the guild’s long-term partners — which include SecretLab, Elgato, Displate and Curseforge — the likes of Starforge Systems, Fractal Design, Red Bull, Twitch, U.GG and Gains for Gamers will sponsor Echo Esports for the event.

All of Echo’s commercial partners will be featured on the guild’s content pieces throughout the event, which is taking place on May 10th. Further activations have not been revealed.

Moreover, Echo will once again use Race to World First to raise money for charity. According to the guild, it has raised over $135,000 (~£108,000) for mental health-focused non-profit Rise above the Disorder through events.

Race to World First is a competitive World of Warcraft event that occurs when a new raid is made available in the game. When the raid is active, guilds and organisations race to complete the raid first, with many streaming their efforts and hosting broadcasted events that can last days.

Starforge Systems and Twitch were previous partners of Echo Esports’ last Race to World First event — Vault of the Incarnates — in December 2022. The guild went on to win the event.

For the first Race to World First event of the year, Echo Esports will host and produce a live event from Sweden for its roster of 10 players. The event will also include seven casters and seven staff members on site. Interestingly, the event will also be supported by the European Speedrunner Assembly charity.

In recent times Echo Esports has become a powerhouse in the WoW Race to World First scene. The guild has won three Race to World First events in a row, with Aberrus the Shadowed Crucible aiming to be Echo’s fourth.
