Swedish esports venue company FUZED has announced the FUZED Summer Games, a series of youth and kids tournaments in CS:GO and football to take place at its facility in Helsingborg, Sweden.

The tournaments will have a SEK 250,000 (~£18,500) prize pool and is set to commence on June 24th. The tournaments will be supported by CS:GO star Patrik ‘f0rest’ Lindberg and Swedish footballer Robin Quaison.

FUZED is a Swedish startup that aims to create gaming venues that support healthy living for children, all while giving them an opportunity to polish their esports skills. FUZED was founded in 2022 and its main venue includes a large gaming facility and training gym, with only healthy food and drink included.

The upcoming Summer Games is a series of tournaments in both real-world 4v4 football and CS:GO, showcasing the goal of the venue to cater to both audiences. The Games will be played every Saturday throughout the summer, with the organisers noting that the aim is to promote the grassroots movement in both Swedish sports and esports.

According to FUZED’s website, the CS:GO matches will be played on the FACEIT platform. Moreover, the tournament will have an age limit of 13.

The series is supported by two Swedish stars in both fields. Robin Quaison is a professional footballer currently playing for Ettifaq FC in the Saudi Pro League, which he joined after playing in Sweden, Italy and Germany.

On the other hand, Patrik Lindberg is one of the most-known esports players in history. He was a part of the Ninjas in Pyjamas lineup that won the Cologne 2014 CS:GO Major, and numerous other trophies. Lindberg also played for Fnatic and SK Gaming.

Patrik ‘f0rest’ Lindberg, commented: “There’s a great value in helping young talents get better conditions, something I missed having when I was a kid. At the beginning of my career, there were LAN tournaments everywhere, it was an incredible feeling to go away and compete against others in a physical environment.

“Today, the largest part of esports is online and that FUZED works to create environments where young people can gather and develop is inspiring.”
