Pittsburgh-based esports organisation Knights has announced the renewal of its partnership with peripheral brand HyperX.

As Knights’ ‘official gaming peripheral collaborator’, HyperX will provide the esports organisation with its products as well as collaborate on a variety of content and activations. The contract length of the renewal has not been disclosed.

Commonly known as the Pittsburgh Knights or PK Knights, the North American organisation first partnered with HyperX in 2019. One of the company’s most notable community initiatives is the Sakura Cup tournaments, women’s VALORANT competitions which started in 2021. So far there have been a total of 14 Sakura Cup events.

Knights currently has competitive rosters within Rainbow Six Siege, Mortal Kombat and iRacing. Earlier this year, the organisation announced its departure from Rocket League’s esports ecosystem

Alongside its competitive division, Knights also has an event arm called Knights Arena which has teamed up with Riot Games for VALORANT’s 2023 VCT Challenger and VCT Game Changers events in North America. As a result, Knights could no longer field a VALORANT roster for the 2023 campaign.

HyperX, on the other hand, continues to cement itself as one of the largest gaming peripherals brands in esports through its multiple collaborations and activations with esports stakeholders. In 2023 alone, the brand has partnered with Riot Games’ VALORANT Champions Tour and Allied Esports’ HyperX Arena venue, as well as creating activations with 100 Thieves co-owner Rachell ‘Valkyrae’ Hofstetter.

According to a release, the new collaboration between Knights and HyperX aims to ‘enhance the gaming experience for Knights’ players, fans, and the wider gaming community’.

Paul Leaman, Vice President, HyperX EMEA, commented on the partnership: “We are delighted to become the Official Gaming Peripheral collaborator of the Knights. Knight’s  dedication to their community and fostering talent aligns perfectly with our brand values, and we  are excited to provide them with the best-in-class gaming peripherals to support their journey.”
