Spanish esports organisation Giants Gaming has announced a partnership with German car manufacturer Opel, a part of the Stellantis group of companies.

The esports organisation will work together with Opel for the launch of the new Opel Corsa Electric in Spain. As a result, the two companies will work on activations and promotions for the new car throughout the year.

According to Giants and Opel, the new partnership will focus on marketing the new Opel Corsa Electric, with Opel aiming to leverage Giants’ reach to attract younger buyers towards the Corsa.

The main launch of the new Opel Corsa will take place on September 26th at the Giants Gaming headquarters in Malaga, Spain, and will feature a media presentation, as well as a fan event for Giants supporters. The event will include popular Giants content creators and influencers, as well as competitions in various games, including simulation racing. The car will become available for buyers in October.

Giants and Opel will work on different promotions and activations focused on the car, with Giants stating that “streamers with a substantial following of millions will take part in campaigns to establish the new Corsa among the young audience”.

José Ramón Díaz, CEO of Giants, commented on the partnership: “The esports audience and gaming content consumers are predominantly young, and we are, without a doubt, the perfect vehicle to introduce the new Corsa to that audience. Esports represent innovation, and we know that Opel is a leading brand that always strives to make a difference with each launch. Therefore, it’s a natural collaboration that brings us great joy, and we are confident in its success.”

Director of Opel in Spain and Portugal Vincent Lehoucq added that the company is very happy to hold a launch in the Giants headquarters, and that the new car is sure to resonate with a younger audience.
