The Network of Academic and Scholastic Esports Federations (NASEF) has promoted Claire LaBeaux to the role of Chief Advancement Officer.

As a result, LaBeaux will ‘spearhead global partnerships’ in addition to overseeing NASEF programmes leveraging esports and gaming as an educational tool.

In her previous roles, LaBeaux was a NASEF Director and its Chief of Marketing, assisting with the expansion of the company into a network containing a number of affiliates located across the world.

Prior to joining NASEF, LaBeaux worked as a public relations consultant in addition to assisting non-profit organisations specialising in STEM education programmes and youth leadership.

Founded in 2018 as the North America Scholastic Esports Federation, NASEF joined forces with the International Esports Federation in 2021 to provide its members with guidelines and resources to implement esports into educational curriculums in their respective nations.

In April 2023, NASEF expanded further after assuming control of the United States Esports Federation, which now acts as the competitive arm of the organisation which promotes esports on a scholastic and collegiate level throughout the United States.

Dr. Constance Steinkuehler, Co-Director at Games+Learning+Society Centre and Professor of Informatics at the University of California, spoke on the appointment: “Claire LaBeaux’s reputation as an advocate for youth is well-earned and I’m delighted to hear of her new role in NASEF.

“LaBeaux has been a formative part of the scholastic esports movement since its very inception, working on behalf of students and their families in the games-for-impact space for nearly a decade now. I’m excited to see where this new path takes her and the field.”

  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
