The 2023 BLAST Premier Fall Final has recorded increased average viewership, despite a slight decrease in peak viewership, compared to the same event last year.
According to esports data platform Esports Charts, the number of average viewers for the 2023 BLAST Premier Fall Finals was 169,721, an increase of 16,060 from 2022.
The event, held at Copenhagen’s Royal Arena, garnered a peak viewership figure of 411,609, approximately 10,000 less than the 2022 BLAST Premier Fall Final.
The tournament’s most popular match was the Grand Final between French esports organisation Team Vitality and North American team FaZe Clan. Team Vitality emerged victorious, taking home $200,000 (~£158,436) in prize money and a place at the season-ending BLAST Premier World Final, taking place in Abu Dhabi from December 13th-17th.
According to Esports Charts, North American esports organisation Cloud9 was the most popular team throughout the event, amassing 2.8m hours watched throughout the competition.
In terms of peak viewership, the BLAST Premier Fall Finals 2023 is the third most popular edition, behind the competition’s 2021 (861,383) and 2022 (421,711) events.
The 2023 BLAST Premier Fall Finals becomes the eleventh most-watched Counter-Strike event of 2023. The tournament organiser sits at the top of the 2023 Counter-strike peak viewership charts following the success of the BLAST.tv Paris Major which recorded 1.52m viewers at its peak. To compare, the 2023 BLAST Premier Spring Finals recorded a peak viewership of 494,135, placing it eighth on the chart.
Counter-Strike continues to prove extremely popular in the first-person shooter market following the release of Counter-Strike 2. Looking ahead to 2024, BLAST announced its 2024 Spring Final will take place at the OVO Arena Wembley in London, four years since the last BLAST-hosted event took place in the capital.
