The Champion of Champions Tour (CCT), a Counter-Strike 2 esports circuit commissioned by game data platform GRID, has unveiled details surrounding its Global Finals for 2024.

The CCT Global Finals 2024 will take place online May 16th – 23rd, will teams competing for its total prize pool of $500,000 (~£400,000).

The tournament will feature 16 teams, 11 of which have qualified from the CCT Studio Finals and online CCT Finals events. The other five will be directly invited. The full list of invited teams has yet to be announced and is expected to be public in the coming week. Due to uncertainty around teams not being able to fully field rosters, the team list is also subject to change.

The Champions of Champions Tour first entered Counter-Strike in the summer of 2022, when the organisers unveiled the 18-month-long circuit that would run in both the Americas and Europe. GRID and its partners; FACEIT, Eden Esports, Relog Media, Fantyasyexpo, and Black Molly Entertainment, teamed up with local tournament organisers to run the $1.8m (~£1.4m) online cups stage.

The online events were followed by the second stage, the Studio Finals, which featured 11 offline events. Now the CCT circuit has reached its final stage, the Global Finals, set to take place in May of this year.

Fabian Logemann, the Head of Tournament Operations at GRID, the company who is commissioning the tournament, stated: “The CCT 2022/2023 season was a massive undertaking and the reception by the community, teams, talent and our partners was incredibly rewarding and humbling.

“We’re excited to cap off the first Tour with Global Finals in May, and while online, we can’t wait to put on a show to crown the Champion of Champions. The team and I would like to express our gratitude to the fans, players, talent and all of our valued partners who made the CCT a success!”
