Content creator and streamer Giorgio ‘Pow3r’ Calandrelli has joined Italian esports organisation NOVO Esports as its President and Co-Owner.

According to a release, Calandrelli will work with NOVO on projects ranging from content creation, community outreach and grassroots esports initiatives.

Calandrelli was previously a content creator for European esports organisation Fnatic for over five years before departing the organisation in February 2024. Calandrelli has a very large following in Italy, with 2m Twitch followers and around 1.3m YouTube subscribers. Prior to transitioning to content creation, Calandrelli competed professionally in Call of Duty and Fortnite.

Launched in February 2023, NOVO Esports is a relatively new Italian esports team that competes in several esports titles within the Italian esports scene, including VALORANT, Rocket League, and Street Fighter. The organisation saw regional success in 2023, winning the Italian Rocket League Championship. The company’s goal is to grow and popularise esports in Italy, a country with a relatively small esports landscape when compared to its size and population.

As President and Co-Owner, Calandrelli will be involved with the day-to-day operations of the company, while also being a prominent ambassador with a large following. Calandrelli noted that he wanted to start his esports organisation before, but that working with an established company such as NOVO was a better idea.

The two parties announced that Calandrelli will “be collaborating on new initiatives such as esports schools, with the clear goal of developing and raising new domestic talents.”

Giorgio “Pow3r” Calandrelli commented on his new venture: “NOVO has already built a solid foundation in the past year and I’m excited to see how their projects will unfold. NOVO is a young team but it has a long-term vision as they aim to beat the sustainability problem within the industry, and I want to help them move gears and make the right moves.”

NOVO’s announcement follows on from the Italian organisation raising €110,000 (~£95,000) through a SAFE deal with two private investors in December.

  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
