A collaboration between electric motorsport series Formula E and game publisher Ubisoft has resulted in the launch of a new circuit for racing video game Trackmania.

The new Berlin track will be released on Saturday, May 11th to celebrate Formula E’s Berlin E-Prix.

The track will be part of Trackmania’s in-game Formula E universe and will feature 12 car liveries, a dedicated game mode and competitive races with a prize pool of up to €10,000 (~£8,600).

The new track will open as Trackmania’s ‘Track of the Day’ and ‘Cup of the Day’, with the first race taking place at 8pm CEST on the day of its release. Additional time-limited races will occur on May 12th and May 15th.

The 12 in-game liveries will include those from all 11 Formula E teams as well as a bespoke Formula E Championship skin. nine of the 11 liveries are already available in-game, while those for Envision Racing, TAG Heuer Porsche and DS Penske will be released in the build-up to the opening of the Berlin track.

A €3,000 (~£2,600) prize pool will be available for the new circuit and a portion will be rewarded by global ranking to crown the Grand Winner at the end of the championship.

According to a release, the new collaboration comes after the ‘huge success’ of the game’s Tokyo E-Prix circuit in March.

On the new partnership, Sanjay Shivaram, Strategy & Media Programme Director at Formula E, commented: “As Formula E’s gaming offer continues to grow, we’re thrilled to integrate the new Berlin circuit into Trackmania for millions of fans to enjoy.

“As the ever-present race location on our calendar, it’s important to give fans and players the chance to put themselves in the driving seat and experience the thrill and drama of electric racing themselves. With unique game modes and cash prizes up for grabs, it’s all to play for as we head to the German capital.”

Formula E’s Trackmania partnership comes off the back of the game’s recently released esports circuit for the 2024 season. The new circuit has reverted back to an open community-supported tournament circuit, moving away from a team and league-based system.

  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
