Annual fighting game event Combo Breaker has announced a partnership with Wonderful Pistachios, a nut brand of The Wonderful Company.

As a result of the deal, the nut brand will become the official snack of the 2024 event taking place from May 24th to May 26th.

As the official snack of Combo Breaker, Wonderful Pistachios will engage with event attendees and online viewers with the aim of promoting the brand’s No Shells variety of nuts. Wonderful Pistachios will host its own booth at the event offering free samples and a giveaway featuring a one-year supply of pistachios.

Combo Breaker is one of the largest FCG events in North America. According to a release, the tournament expects ‘7,000 in-person attendees’ at the 2024 event that will feature competitions in several titles including Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8 and Super Smash Bros.

Wonderful Pistachios is no stranger to the esports industry and the FGC sector. In September 2022, it partnered with Panda Global to be a partner of the Panda Cup Super Smash Bros. circuit. Partnering with Combo Breaker marks its second involvement in supporting fighting game tournaments.

The nut brand becomes the tenth partner of Combo Breaker. It joins the likes of gaming merchandise company The Yetee, esports event service provider Gaming Gen, and international restaurant chain Chipotle on its portfolio.

Diana Salsa, Vice President of Marketing at Wonderful Pistachios, spoke on the deal: “Combo Breaker is at the heart of the grassroots gaming community with a dynamic and diverse crowd, which is a perfect fit for our brand.

“Just as each gamer brings their own unique style to the competition, our assortment of pistachios provides a perfect match for every taste preference and allows consumers to snack healthy without having to sacrifice flavours or fun.”
