US-based event organiser ReedPop has announced a TEKKEN 8 tournament coming to EGX Arena and MCM Comic Con later this year.

The tournament, in collaboration with Bandai Namco, will give professional players the chance to compete for a share of its £5,000 prize pool.

The TEKKEN tournament will be held on October 26th-27th, making a return following its success last year. According to a release, the is the first major TEKKEN 8 tournament in the UK.

The tournament will be live-streamed on the EGX Arena Twitch channel. Additionally, EGX 2024 will offer players the chance to play the upcoming releases. The format will see 128 players compete in four pools of 32 players, each in double-elimination brackets. Pools A and B will be played on Saturday while Pools C and D matches, alongside the subsequent bracket stage, will run on the following day.

Taking place from October 25th – 27th at ExCeL London, EGX is the UK’s biggest video game fan convention. It features the latest games on both PC and console, stage presentations by game designers and the opportunity to chat with developers through panels and talks.

For the first time, EGX will be held together with MCM Comic Con, a convention that primarily focuses on comic books, video games, sci-fi, cosplay, anime and popular media.

Tekken 8 made major headlines when it was featured as one of the game titles at the Esports World Cup. Despite the grandiose $1,000,000 (~£760,000) prize pool, the game title couldn’t match Street Fighter, another FGC game at the event, in terms of viewership numbers. The event recorded 60,500 peak viewers and 33,500 average viewers, much lower than its most popular tournament of the year, EVO Las Vegas, which peaked at 275,000.

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
