Gaming peripherals and hardware brand Corsair has announced the acquisition of Fanatec Sim Racing, a sim racing equipment manufacturer owned by German company Endor AG.
The two companies have signed a definitive agreement with the deal set to go through after approval by German regulators. Corsair will acquire Fanatec’s employees and the company’s entire product line.
Fanatec is one of the most notable companies in the simulation racing space, producing steering wheels, pedals and cockpits for PlayStation, Xbox and PC. The company was founded in 1997 in Germany.
Corsair has announced its intention to acquire the German sim racing company in May 2024 through its official website. It appears that the deal has since moved to the final stages, with Corsair sharing that it has signed a ‘definitive agreement’ with Endor AG to acquire the Fanatec line, and all of its employees. The company’s headquarters will remain at its current location in Germany and Corsair noted that Fanatec will continue to develop sim racing products as before.
One of the main goals for the two companies is scaling operations and making Fanatec products more widely available through existing Corsair supply chains and partnerships. The two companies did not announce any financial details of the deal, and Fanatec will join the likes of SCUF, Origin PC and Elgato, as brands owned by Corsair.
