Battle royale title PUBG Mobile has unveiled a new in-game ranked system featuring the same rules used in professional competitions.

The arrival of Ultimate Royale will see players competing across five skill-based tiers in online matches.

As part of the focus on PUBG Mobile‘s esports efforts, the top 500 players in the Ultimate Royale playlist at the end of a season will have the opportunity to try out for a professional team. According to a release, the playlist provides players with ‘the opportunity to rub shoulders with some of the world’s top players.’

The Ultimate Royale playlist will open on November 10th, 2024 and will occur every two weeks after the start of each ‘Classic Season’. The new ranked mode will be open to all players that have reached ‘Crown Tier ‘in the current or previous season. In addition to offering the chance to compete in an esports-focused environment, the playlist also features a variety of in-game rewards.

PUBG Mobile esports has grown significantly in 2024. In April, the first PUBG Mobile Global Open attracted more than half a million viewers. Meanwhile, September saw the battle royale circuit enter a partnership with UK-based esports organisation Guild Esports.

Utilising in-game playlists to offer amateur players a chance at turning professional is a trend that continues to grow. In November 2023, Riot Games introduced Premier, an in-game qualification system for entry into the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT).

According to a report from Business of Apps, PUBG Mobile has recorded 30m daily users. With its huge player base, combined with impressive viewing figures, the arrival of Ultimate Royale has the potential to cultivate talent to the highest tier of competition.

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
