Owls Esports, the esports division of Sheffield Wednesday, has announced a partnership with Enigma Net.

As a result of the deal, the technology company will provide its networking solutions to enhance the team’s esports arena.

According to a release, the partnership between Owls Esports and Enigma Tech aims to ‘ensure the arena benefits from optimum connectivity’ for those using the esports arena based at Sheffield Wednesday’s Hillsborough stadium.

The deal marks Enigma Tech‘s first foray into the esports industry. The London-based company has provided its services across a range of sectors including oil, retail and education.

“This partnership between Enigma Net and Owls Esports is rooted in a shared vision of pushing the boundaries of gaming technology and performance,” commented, Stephen Bridge, Chief Revenue Officer at Enigma Tech.

“Enigma Net’s innovative SD-WAN solutions align perfectly with the high-intensity demands of esports, offering gamers an optimised connection that enhances reaction time, reduces lag, and improves overall in-game performance.”

The partnership takes the number of partners on Owls Esports’ roster to six. In addition to Enigma Net, the team also has deals with gaming peripherals brand HyperX, camera manufacturer Nikon, esports tournament platform challengermode monitor brand AOC and furniture manufacturer noblechairs.

Founded in 2022, Sheffield Wednesday’s esports branch fields rosters across a variety of titles including EA Sports FC and VALORANT. Alongside its esports efforts, Owls Esports also operates the Owls Network, a community initiative created for aspiring content creators.

In January 2024, Owls Esports opened its dedicated facility and is one of several English football clubs to open one within the confines of its stadium.

“We are thrilled to welcome Enigma Net into our esports family, showcasing this outstanding product,” added Rob Hawden, Head of Owls Esports.

“This significantly improves our unique pitch-facing gaming arena inside Hillsborough whilst providing a cutting edge to our players and visitors.”

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
