Canadian esports organisation Gaimin Gladiators has unveiled its new $1m (~£744,240) gaming facility in Lisbon, Portugal.
The new facility, which comes with multiple boot camp rooms, dedicated coaching spaces, relaxation zones and lounge areas, will be used as a co-working base by the players and staff for practice, operations and content creation.
According to Co-Founder and President Nick Cuccovillo, the space will also be open to teams looking for bootcamp setups. The bootcamp room is currently priced at £223 per night, according to GAIMIN Gladiators’ website, coming with seven high-performance PC setups, a fully stocked kitchen and ultra-fast internet.
The facility is supported by the esports organisations’ sponsors, gaming peripheral brand SteelSeries and betting company Winline.
Founded in 2019 and later rebranding to GAIMIN in 2022, the esports organisation has quickly established a strong presence across several titles with rosters across Dota 2, Apex Legends, Fortnite and Overwatch 2. In particular, the Dota 2 team is known for winning several international competitions, including DreamLeague Season 19 and 20, the ESL One Berlin Major and coming second at The International in both 2023 and 2024.
The organisation was also chosen among the 40 clubs to be accepted into the Esports World Cup Partner programme after finishing in the top eight in the last edition, and has picked up teams for Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, PUBG, Mobile Legends and CrossFire as it aims to win a share of the $27m (~£20m) prize pool for the EWC Club Championship.
Cuccovillo commented on the announcement through a post on LinkedIn: “There’s a real sense of pride here… It feels like a tribute to everything we’ve been building over the years, and when other teams walk in and immediately feel part of GG, that’s when you know it’s special and have the true sports homage feel.”
