LTA North team FlyQuest (FLY) has been eliminated from the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) 2025 as opponent Bilibili Gaming (BLG) perseveres in the Bracket Stage.

Previously sent to the lower bracket by another LPL team, Anyone’s Legend, the last-surviving Western representative suffered a 2-3 loss.

FlyQuest’s Inspired Dominates the Battlefield

For the first game, FlyQuest chose a bot-focused draft and allowed BLG’s Luo ‘ON’ Wenjun to play his undefeated Neeko. However, it was FlyQuest’s Kacper ‘Inspired’ Słoma as well as Gabriël ‘Bwipo’ Rau that took the spotlight. Inspired, in particular, had a massive 5/0/15 performance on Sejuani, first supporting the sidelanes with well-timed ganks and later relentlessly chasing after the enemy.

Although BLG kept the game somewhat even by stacking early objectives, the ever-growing gap in gold and flowers was too much to overcome. After securing the Baron and denying BLG’s Dragon Soul, FLY marched into the enemy base at 36:22.

Bilibili Gaming Outscales FlyQuest

Game two saw BLG draft a strong scaling team composition, whereas FLY made another futile attempt at a Kalista/Renata bot-lane. With its opponent setting the pace early, FLY was forced to concede most neutral objectives. Whenever FlyQuest did commit to dragon contests, the LTA North squad was wiped out swiftly.

Meanwhile, Zhuo ‘knight’ Ding’s Viktor dominated in the early mid-lane match-up and successfully scaled to deliver an 11/1/7 game. Fuelled by the Ocean Soul and Baron, BLG evened out the match score within just over 30 minutes.

For game three, FlyQuest took inspiration from its rival by drafting a scaling-reliant team composition. However, the team was on the back foot from the start, desperately trying to keep up with Bilibili Gaming’s aggressive dives and resulting gold advantage.

The momentum of the game then suddenly shifted as FLY miraculously won a Baron contest in minute 35. With the Baron buff secured, the LTA roster saw an opportunity to end the game. Yet its base invasion proved too weak and enabled BLG to return the favour with a 37:25 finish.

FlyQuest Repeats Game One Strategy

Despite FLY’s fumble in the previous game, the team remained stalwart in the face of MSI elimination. The early game saw poking and prodding from both teams until the tension culminated around the Void Grubs pit, resulting in two kills for FLY’s Hwei, being played by midlaner Song ‘Quad‘ Su-hyeong.

Afterwards, it was once again the deadly duo of Bwipo and Inspired — this time, supported by Alan ‘Busio’ Cwalina on Bard — to successfully fish for picks across the map. Under FlyQuest’s overwhelming pressure, BLG could not deny the Chemtech Soul nor the Baron. A final fight in minute 28 allowed FLY to take its opponent to a fifth game.

The series concluded with a dominant statement from BLG, which had already begun in the drafting phase. Limited by Fearless Draft, BLG first-picked Galio as its win condition. Meanwhile, FLY surprised viewers with a Zilean pick.

The decision did not pay off as FLY found itself quickly falling behind on every single lane. Not only that, but the team’s star jungler, Inspired, was caught out isolated twice, denying him any early-game impact. What followed was a map-wide slaughter spearheaded by BLG’s global ultimates.

The LPL squad secured the series within 31:31, recording a 19,500 gold lead over FLY. Moreover, BLG achieved the best kill-deficit for a game five in the history of League of Legends esports, with 31 compared to 5 kills.

MSI 2025 Continues With Lower Bracket Final

Following today’s victory, BLG will next face off against fellow LPL team Anyone’s Legend. Taking place on July 11th at 1 am BST, the best-of-five (BO5) series will determine who will advance to the Lower Bracket Final (July 12th).

However, MSI will already continue tomorrow at 1 am BST with the Upper Bracket Final between LCK giants Gen.G Esports and T1. The winner will directly qualify for the Grand Final on July 13th.

Fans can tune into all MSI matches via the official Twitch and YouTube channels as well as associated co-streamers.
