The Overwatch Champions Series (OWCS) 2025 Stage 2 Promotion/Relegation tournament has concluded for two of the biggest regions in the esports scene, with the winners of both NA and EMEA decided.

The winners have been promoted to OWCS Stage 3, while the bottom two teams of each region are relegated to the FACEIT League Season 6 Masters. Esports Insider covers the results of the recent Promotion/Relegation tournaments, alongside every team that has qualified for OWCS Stage 3.

History Repeats Itself For North America

The North American region saw Supernova, DhillDucks, Dreamland, and Young and Beautiful (Y&B) go head to head for a place in Stage 3.

Supernova qualified after defeating Y&B and Dreamland 3-1 in both the Upper Bracket Semi-finals and Finals. On the other hand, DhillDucks was knocked down to the Lower Bracket Semi-finals after losing 2-3 to Y&B.

However, DhillDucks defeated Y&B 3-1 in the Semi-finals before claiming a revenge victory against Dreamland 3-0 in the Lower Bracket Finals to qualify.

It is interesting to note that this is the exact same result as NA Stage 1 Promotion/Relegation, with both Supernova and DhillDucks mirroring its previous placements.

During the OWCS livestream, Carson ‘pdk’ Terry, Damage player for DhillDucks, said: “It’s an exact mirror of the last promotion. We lost on map five, and then [fought] our way through to the next game. But it’s like a carbon copy pretty much.”

Here is every team that has now qualified for OWCS NA Stage 3:

  • Geekay Esports
  • Team Liquid
  • NTMR
  • Spacestation Gaming
  • Sakura Esports
  • Extinction
  • Supernova
  • DhillDucks

EMEA Winners and Losers: Frost Tail Esports’ Early Knockout

The EMEA region had Team Vision, Anomaly, 1DIPVS100GORILLAS (DVSG), and Frost Tail Esports (FTE) compete for a spot in Stage 3.

The tournament was ultimately won by Team Vision, which defeated FTE 3-0 in the Upper Bracket Semi-finals and Anomaly 3-1 in the Finals. After being knocked down to the Lower Brackets, Anomaly defeated DVSG 3-1 and became the second team to qualify for Stage 3.

Back in the Stage 1 Promotion/Relegation tournament, it was Frost Tail Esports that qualified for Stage 2. However, the organisation wasn’t so fortunate this time around.

During the OWCS livestream, Jacob ‘JAKE’ Lyon, Overwatch 2 commentator, said: “There’s so much pressure on these teams here, and it was showing. Both teams were making mistakes, maybe not playing at their absolute best, but it ends up being decided by who’s got the fortitude to see themselves through it.”

Here is every team that has now qualified for OWCS EMEA Stage 3:

  • Al Qadsiah
  • Twisted Minds
  • Virtus.pro
  • The Ultimates
  • Gen.G Esports
  • Team Peps
  • Team Vision
  • Anomaly
