10 competitive titles we’d love to see on the Nintendo Switch 2

The launch of the Switch 2 was a massive success, as consoles sold out around the world in a flash. However, Nintendo fans are still waiting for an influx of game ports, particularly those with a competitive style.

Call of Duty, Battlefield, and Tekken all have titles that would fit nicely in the eShop, so let’s explore the top 10 competitive titles that haven’t been released on the Nintendo Switch 2, but we would love to see.

The Switch 2 is a portable console, so it’s nice to have our favourite games on the go. Games that look nice on a smaller screen are best suited for Nintendo’s upgraded device, but the real gems are those that take advantage of the Switch 2’s unique features.

For example, the Switch 2 Joy-Con can also double as a mouse, so games that make the most out of the Joy-Con’s mouse feature offer something extra to the player. Many esports fans and athletes would greatly prefer to play with a mouse and keyboard, so it’s essential that any competitive game integrates the Joy-Con’s most unique functionality.

If an existing game is going to be ported to the Switch 2, then we think it should offer something extra on Nintendo’s new console.

The following 10 video games are competitive titles that we believe deserve a spot in the Nintendo eShop.

Black Ops 7 is the latest Call of Duty game, but it hasn’t yet been announced for the Switch 2. While Activision has suggested that Call of Duty titles may be made available on Nintendo’s upgraded system in the future, we don’t know if it’ll launch immediately alongside other consoles. It would be great to play Call of Duty on a Nintendo console again, and the potential for ports is limitless with Warzone, Modern Warfare 3, and Black Ops 6 all standing strong in their own ways.

If there were a competitive battle royale we could magically port to the Switch 2, it would be PUBG. This is the game that started the battle royale trend in the late 2010s, so it would likely be a hit on the portable console. PUBG: Battlegrounds offers large maps in a battle royale mode, with various vehicles and weapons available for players to choose from in the loot pool.

Forza Motorsport is a 2023 title that rebooted Xbox’s racing game franchise like never before. In this title, players have access to dozens of vehicles and can race to their heart’s content on a variety of unique tracks. Forza is one of the most competitive racing games on the market, so we hope that Microsoft eventually considers bringing it, or a future sequel, to the Nintendo Switch 2.

This popular FPS by Riot Games would be a perfect addition to the Switch 2’s catalogue. VALORANT is one of the most prominent esports games in 2025, which is why this port is a top priority for competitive gamers around the globe. Offering a large roster of distinct agents, you’ll find that VALORANT allows you to build your own play style while diving deep into its round-based gameplay.

Though EA has yet to make any official announcements regarding a Battlefield 6 release on Switch 2, we believe that it could eventually come to fruition. Battlefield 6 is set to include dynamic destruction in multiplayer mode and even a new battle royale experience, so it’s yet another FPS that competitive gamers would love on the Switch 2.

In terms of competitive fighting games, Tekken 8 takes the cake as the most logical port to Switch 2. Tekken 8 has a plethora of characters to play and a bustling esports scene, not to mention how popular the series is in general, so we’re hoping for a Switch 2 version soon.

Rainbow Six Siege X was released in June 2025, but fans are already looking towards a possible Switch 2 port. Siege X is a free-to-play shooter with a strong focus on tactical combat, which is why it gained a large following in the esports community. If you like strategic FPS games, then you’d love the dozens of unique operators in Siege, all of whom offer a special ability.

With Microsoft expanding its reach beyond just Xbox consoles, it wouldn’t be too big of a leap to imagine a Halo title on Switch 2 in the distant future. Whether it be the Master Chief Collection or an entirely new game, it would be fantastic to have Xbox’s most popular FPS on a handheld during vacations and other outings.

Counter-Strike 2 is a huge esport in 2025, and for good reason. In Counter-Strike 2, players compete in objective-based FPS modes that push their tactical senses to the limit, and we think this strategic gameplay would be a good fit on the Switch 2 if Valve ever decides to bring it to console.

The Finals could be one of the most popular first-person shooters on the Switch 2, especially since it offers flexibility in its class system. Fast-paced movement and destructible environments are two key details of this FPS, and players can even pick from a range of fun multiplayer modes. Plus, The Finals is free-to-play, so an abundance of players would have access to it on Nintendo’s portable hybrid.

The Switch 2 didn’t have a huge game lineup at launch, so gamers who picked up the system early are still waiting to play their favourite multiplayer games in portable fashion.

With Pokémon Champions and maybe even Call of Duty on the way, there’s much to look forward to as a Nintendo fan in 2025 and beyond. If multiplayer games thrive on the Switch 2, then a whole new group of gamers could be introduced to esports.
