The 2026 Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) competitive roadmap has been unveiled following the end of the 2025 Fortnite Global Championship.
Two new LAN tournaments will be introduced in the 2026 roadmap, as well as a new mobile tournament series with a combined prize pool of $1m (~£740,035).
The 2026 competitive season will also mark the switch from Trios back to Duos. The two-team battle royale mode was used back in the 2023 and 2024 Fortnite Global Championships, meaning that teams will have to be reshuffled for the coming season.
The announcement took place on the day that the trio of Queasy, SwizzY, and Merstach took the title of 2025 Fortnite Global Champions and lifted the trophy in front of a sold-out crowd of nearly 10,000 fans in Lyon-Décines, France.
Four Fortnite LANs in 2026, Including Mobile
Even though details and schedules of the tournaments have yet to be unveiled, Epic Games has confirmed that there will be four LANs in the coming year.
The Pro-Am and the Global Championship will be kept, with the FNCS Mid-Season and Road Elite Series adding more live competitions to the calendar. The former will be a more traditional Battle Royale tournament, while the other will be a Reload tournament, a faster-paced competition where players can respawn as long as one teammate is still alive in the action.
The biggest news is the introduction of a new mobile series, months after the game was brought back onto iOS devices.
Back in 2020, Epic Games and Apple disagreed on the extra tax the iPhone creators took on all purchases made within the game. No additional information aside from the prize pool has been given out.
According to a release, one of the FNCS 2026 LAN events will be coming back to Europe, keeping the momentum from this year’s FNCS Global Championship. The other major announcement was the upcoming overhaul of Fortnite’s ranked system, although the scope of the update is yet to be unveiled.
