Riot Games has revealed the latest wave of emotes coming to League of Legends, themed after teams in the LCK, LPL, LCP and LTA.
A portion of the revenue generated from purchasing the emotes will be shared directly with teams in the region, allowing fans to support some of their favourite rosters.
The announcement by Riot Games shortly followed the release of the LEC’s in-game emotes for its franchised teams. Emotes have been designed after every team competing in the tier one League of Legends esports scene, a practice introduced by Riot Games in August 2024.
A single emote will cost 350 RP (~$2.54/£2.73), with 30% of the revenue generated going directly to the associated teams.
Esports emotes are available to purchase through the MOBA titles’ in-game store. Using League of Legends’ currency, RP, the emotes can be permanently unlocked and assigned to the emote wheel, which can then be accessed during casual and competitive matches.
League of Legends Esports in 2025
The emotes come at a critical point in the League of Legends esports scene, as some of the teams featured are set to compete in the game’s crowning event, the 2025 World Championship in China. The tournament will run from October 14th to November 9th, and features a $5m (~£3.7m) prize pool.
Another major event occurring this year is the 2025 Asia Invitational from October 6th to 12th, 2025. The recently announced event features teams from the LPL, LCK and LCP that did not qualify for Worlds 2025. Hosted by Huya, Douyu, and Bilibili, eight teams will compete for a share of its CNY 1.5m (~£154,523) prize pool.
