Gentle Mates has won the third European Open of the 2026 Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) season.

The French esports organisation bested fellow French organisation Karmine Corp 4-1 in the Grand Final to book its place in the Boston Major.

Gentle Mates Climbs To The Top

After top-four and top-six placements in the first two online Opens, Gentle Mates began its Open 3 campaign with a flawless 3-0 record in the Group Stage. As a result, the team booked its place in the upper bracket quarter-finals.

The quarter-finals against Magnifico required all seven matches, with Gentle Mates securing a 4-3 victory to advance to the semi-finals, where Manchester City would await. Another hard-fought series went in favour of the French organisation, scoring a 4-3 victory to earn its first Grand Final appearance since the fourth Open of 2024’s Major 2.

Standing in the way of victory was Karmine Corp, the defending European Open winners and the RLCS Kick-Off Weekend champions.

Gentle Mates opened the best-of-seven series dominantly, winning the first three games to place Karmine Corp on the back foot. Karmine Corp responded in game four with a 2-1 win in a bid to close the gap, but Gentle Mates rounded off the series with a 1-0 win in game five to wrap up a 4-1 series victory.

As a result of the victory, Gentle Mates takes home $21,000 (~£15,328) in prize money along with 15 RLCS Points.
