FOKUS and Imperial Esports are among the four regional teams that have qualified for PGL Bucharest 2026.

For FOKUS, the tournament is the German esports organisation’s first Tier 1 tournament since entering Counter-Strike esports in February 2026.

FOKUS Topples Notable Names

FOKUS successfully navigated its way to the main event with an impressive run through the top half of the double-elimination bracket. Victories over BetBoom Team, Inner Circle Esports, and EYEBALLERS cemented its place in the Grand Final, where Inner Circle would await.

Despite overtime occurring in two of the four maps played, FOKUS emerged victorious with a 3-1 scoreline to win the European qualifier, marking an impressive start to its Counter-Strike journey.

Imperial Esports Makes Lower Bracket Run

Ahead of the South American qualifiers, Imperial Esports signed Guilherme ‘levi‘ Godoy and Lucas ‘decenty‘ Bacelar to cement its place as one of the region’s top sides. After dropping into the lower bracket following a defeat to Keyd Stars, wins over Bounty Hunters, Yawara Esports, and Galorys in the lower bracket saw the team face MIBR in the Grand Final.

MIBR began the best-of-five on the front foot, taking the first two maps to put Imperial Esports on the brink of missing out on a trip to Bucharest. Two overtime wins on Anubis and Nuke levelled the series before Imperial Esports scored a 13-11 win on Overpass to complete a reverse sweep.

Team Voca And The Huns Round Out the Field

Similar to the South American qualifier, the North American qualifier needed all five maps to determine which team from the region would earn a place at the main event. In a back-and-forth contest between Team Voca and Wildcard, the former demonstrated superior attacking prowess on Nuke to score a 3-2 series victory.

Elsewhere, The Huns Esports booked its place in Bucharest as Asia’s representative by topping the round-robin group stage with two victories over Legion and THUNDERdOWNUNDER.
