DreamHack has announced that it will host the first Dota 2 Major of 2020, with DreamLeague Season 13 taking place in Leipzig, Germany on January 18-26th.
The event will feature a $1,000,000 (£776,005) prize pool and is part of DreamHack Leipzig, which will also host CS:GO and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournaments.

The first Dota Pro Circuit Major for the 2019-2020 season is the MDL Chengdu Major, which is scheduled to take place on November 16–24th.
Marcus Lindmark, Co-CEO of DreamHack commented in a release: “We at DreamHack are proud that Valve, once again, has chosen DreamHack to host a DPC Major. We aim to bring the same feeling delivered during DreamLeague Season 11 in Stockholm, Sweden, to our event in Leipzig, meaning that the tournament will be packed with exciting games, great entertainment, and an opportunity for Dota 2 fans to come closer to, and cheer for their favorite teams and players.”

DreamLeague Season 13 will bring together teams from six regions – North America, South America, Europe, China, Southeast Asia, and CIS – which have qualified through regional qualifiers and a Minor event. DreamHack Leipzig will be located at the Leipziger Messe.
CS:GO event DreamHack Leipzig Open is part of the ESL Pro Tour, a new initiative that links over 20 DreamHack and ESL events, which was announced in September. The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament will be part of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate European Circuit.
Esports Insider says: This event is a great opportunity for Leipzig to prove itself as a worthy host to major tournaments, covering a number of titles. If it’s successful then it could join the likes of Berlin and Hamburg as a top German destination for esports events.
