Evil Geniuses has announced a partnership with America’s Navy that will include a six-episode video content series, as well as mentorship from the esports organisation.
America’s Navy has founded its own Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team, and Evil Geniuses’ own CS:GO team will help train and advise the force’s players.

A six-episode YouTube and Twitch video series will follow the partnership between the North American organisation and the Navy’s Goats & Glory competitive team. The partners will share insight from their own respective careers as they attempt to learn from each other’s expertise.

Additionally, the partners will activate at September’s planned TwitchCon event in San Diego. The teams will appear at Navy’s space at the show, and play together in live “Squad Stream” Twitch streams.

Matt Boren, Chief Marketing Officer at Navy Recruiting Command, added: “Partnering with the Evil Geniuses provides the Navy a unique opportunity to engage with some of the world’s top gamers and improve relatability with prospective Sailors. The skill sets utilised by Evil Geniuses—problem analysis, risk assessment, sensory perception, and split-second decision-making—are the same skill sets required to succeed in critical Navy career fields, such as nuclear engineering, aviation, special warfare, cryptology, and counterintelligence.”
Esports Insider says: It’s clear that the United States Armed Forces sees value in esports partnerships, with the Navy already engaging DreamHack and ESL on an alliance in February. Expect many more such agreements in the future.
