GRID Esports has announced an official data partnership with the Drone Champions League.
The deal will encompass the resumption of the in-real-life racing league in 2021, as well as races hosted in Drone Champions League – The Game.

Data will be made available to GRID members and partners, accompanied by live video streaming through the GRID esports API. As a result of the agreement, this is the first time GRID Esports has entered the physical competition arena.
Thomas Warburton, the COO of GRID, commented: “Drone Champions League has laid out plans for a future where esports and the physical collide. It is with excitement we bring on this new content to our robust suite of products and our portfolio of partners.

The size of the drones allows teams to compete in a variety of landmark locations, including the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and the Great Wall of China. GRID will bring the data from the events to market via its network of regulated bookmakers and media clients.
