There’s no shortage of people who love and work in esports and take long-haul flights. Now you can swap the arduous task of watching eight seasons of Big Bang Theory for reliving some of the finest esports action in recent years. Whether it’s Astralis lifting their first IEM title, Na’Vi storming through ESL One New York or perhaps SCII, Dota 2 or League of Legends are more to your liking – you can relive the best ESL action on an Emirates flight.

The partnership initially runs until June 2018, with every Emirates flight in their network of 150 destinations being kitted out with on-demand esports content on the inflight entertainment systems.

Torsten Haux, VP of Global Media Rights at ESL, commented in the initial article:
“At ESL, we are always looking to increase the visibility of esports and are happy to work with Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, on our first inflight entertainment deal. As a truly global company with events all around the world, I’m sure that players and fans will enjoy ESL’s esports highlights as they travel on Emirates airline.”

For players utilising Emirates, they’ll have a chance to go back and watch tournaments that they’ve competed in – effectively reliving their finest (or worst) moments from a spectator perspective. It has also been revealed that the deal encompasses future stadium events such as ESL One Cologne. That means you won’t be stuck on a flight next year and still having to watch 2016 content. The content will be fresh and fans, players and talent alike will all have a plethora of esports content at their fingertips going forward.

Esports Insider says: Great news. No more tedious TV series, we can now finally watch esports on flights. Now watch as you get stuck in the middle seat, stick on Fnatic versus Team Secret from ESL One Frankfurt – and get some pretty odd looks from the people either side of you. The dream. Congratulations to ESL, this is a great idea and surely a fantastic partnership in the making.

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
