North American peripherals manufacturer MOUNTAIN has entered into an exclusive deal with Florida-based esports organisation Misfits Gaming Group (MGG).

The deal marks MOUNTAIN’s first foray into the esports industry and will see the peripheral company become the official keyboard, mouse, and mousepad supplier of the organisation.

As part of the deal, every esports player under the MGG banner will receive a MOUNTAIN keyboard, mouse, and high-performance mousepad, this includes the organisation’s League of Legends teams, alongside OWL’s Florida Mayhem and Call of Duty League’s Florida Mutineers.

Tobias Brinkmann, Founder and CEO of MOUNTAIN, commented on the partnership: “Misfits Gaming Group is one of the most exciting esports organisations and their vision very much aligns with what we are doing at MOUNTAIN. We have been working on our gaming peripherals for the last two years with the focus on releasing user-centric products that allow gamers to perform at their very best.

“Our Everest keyboard and Makalu 67 mouse have been developed from the ground up to enable gamers to perform at their peak, and we’re really excited to see them in action.”

2021 has already been a busy year for MGG. At the beginning of January, the organisation entered into a partnership with gaming hardware company ASUS Republic of Gamers. MOUNTAIN also joins the likes of Frontier Communications and the Gift of Life cone marrow and stem cell registry as MGG partners.

Vas Roberts, Vice President of Partnerships at MGG, also spoke on the deal: “We are laser-focused on building partnerships with innovators like MOUNTAIN who are committed on so many different levels to change the game in our industry. While keyboards and mice may seem trivial to some, we know the right technology and hardware can take our teams to the next level.”

Esports Insider says: Considering the short time of MOUNTAIN’s operation, joining forces with Misfits Gaming Group is certainly a statement of intent. The partnership will benefit both parties. MGG and its players will receive state-of-the-art peripherals while MOUNTAIN receives plenty of exposure, potentially opening the door for more partnerships of a similar nature.
