Event organiser and production company ESL Gaming has extended its partnership with prepaid payment service paysafecard.
As a result of the new partnership, planned activations featuring paysafecard are set to take place at IEM Katowice 2021, the National Championships in both Germany and Poland, ESL Mobile Europe, and MENA.

According to the release, there will be ‘dedicated activations’ for each tournament. One such initiative will be an in-broadcast audience engagement segment called ‘paysafecard Super Fan’, in which IEM Katowice viewers share why they are fans of specific players. Stories will be submitted via the IEM Katowice website and the best submission will win an exclusive paysafecard and ESL Gaming goodie bag.

The relationship between the ESL and paysafecard began in January 2018, when paysafecard was named the global payment platform partner for all ESL flagship events. The prepaid payment service also holds a long-term partnership with G2 Esports and recently joined forces with FIFA-focused esports organisation NEO in September 2020.
Regarding its renewed deal with ESL Gaming, Konstantinos Maragkakis, the esports spokesperson at paysafecard, added: “paysafecard has a long-standing presence within esports and we are proud of our active contributions to the community over the years. Partnering with ESL allows us to pay tribute to this connection to esports and provide unique opportunities to fans. Esports Insider says: After so many years of successful partnership activations, it’s no surprise that paysafecard would return for 2021. The cashless payment provider may not be strictly endemic to esports, but a natural fit for a digital marketplace — especially as live events shift to digital platforms.
