Hugo Drayton commented on his move: “I am very excited about joining the ambitious and talented team at Gfinity. Esports and gaming are now well-established, essential pillars in consumers’ lives and in the media, and Gfinity is well-positioned to capitalise on the extraordinary growth in the sector. I look forward to harnessing my experience to this high-growth market, to contribute to Gfinity’s future success.”

Prior to joining Gfinity, Drayton served as Senior Independent Director and Chairman of the Remuneration Committee on the board of British media company Future Plc. His previous roles include CEO of advertising company Inskin Media Ltd., Group Managing Director at The Telegraph Group and Managing Director for Europe at Advertising.com.

His current directorships include Future Plc, Inskin Media and MASS Platform Ltd.

Neville Upton, Founder and Chairman of Gfinity, said: “The Board and I are delighted to welcome Hugo to Gfinity. He is a respected leader with a proven track record of helping media businesses grow. Hugo’s wealth of experience and insight will prove invaluable to the company, particularly his expertise in the acceleration of digital media businesses as the Gfinity Digital Media group continues to grow at pace.”

Along with the appointment, the company also announced the departure of Preeti Mardia, former Gfinity Non-executive Director and Chair of the Audit Committee.

“I would also like to sincerely thank Preeti for her contributions to Gfinity over the last four years and wish her well in her next venture,” added Upton.

Mardia will be succeeded as Chair of the Audit Committee by Len Rinaldi, who joined the company in late 2020 as Non-executive Director. Upton will also join the company’s audit committee.

Esports Insider says: With his longstanding experience as a director for numerous companies, Drayton seems like a valuable addition to Gfinity’s Board of Directors. Along with the changes in the Board composition, the company also recently proceeded with several growth-based decisions, including strategic partnerships with Venatus and IQONIQ, and two new appointments to its tournament operations team.

Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
