We’ve rounded up all the strongest picks as of January 2026, so you know exactly who to play, ordered from S-Tier to D-Tier and grouped by roles (Tank, Fighter, Mage, Marksman, Support, and Assassin). There are 131 heroes in Mobile Legends as of January 2026. We’ve ranked every hero based on their current performance across all games and will dive into their specific roles –Tank, Fighter, Mage, Marksman, Support, and Assassin.

Some heroes, like Yi Sun-shin, have both a primary and secondary role, in his case, Assassin and Marksman, so you’ll see their names appear in more than one category. 

If your goal is to climb the ranks, these are the best MLBB heroes for the job most of the time. Those looking for a great tank need not look further than Gloo, or perhaps Fredrinn, if you want someone with more of a fighter’s edge.

Speaking of fans of fighters, the likes of Sora, Leomord, and Freya are great choices, especially with Freya’s relatively recent rework that makes her one of the best 1v1 MLBB heroes around. 

Assassins have plenty of options, especially in the Jungle, with Yin Sun-Shin, Helcurt, and Aamon all being top-tier heroes with both that class and role. Yin Sun-Shin, in particular, has been near the top of tier lists since his revamped ultimate made him a team-fighting monster, and he is extremely dangerous with his mid and late game scaling.

Yin Sun-shin also acts as a great marksman, but Ixia is more dedicated to that role specifically. She has consistent damage throughout a match, and with her high teamfight damage, she is always a threat.

Those who don’t mind others taking the glory should look to a support like Diggie, being disruptive to foes and able to counter enemy CC. Diggie is particularly adept at countering tanks, while being flexible enough to be a bit of a tank if need be.

Mobile Legends Assassins are high-risk, high-reward heroes who excel at bursting down key targets within seconds before safely slipping away. While they spend most of their time in the jungle securing camps and objectives, Assassins will also help their closest allies in different lanes by ambushing enemies, otherwise known as ganking. 

As the playmakers, they will prioritise hunting down squishier enemies (like Marksmen, Mages, or Supports) in the backline and tilting the tempo of the game through constant pressure. 

The S-Tiers in the Assassin class include newcomer Sora, Yi Sun-shin, Helcurt, Aamon, and Lancelot, with Sora, Yi Sun-shin, and Helcurt being particular standouts. While not having the greatest winrate, Sora has an immense ban rate of just under 70% (in the last 14 days of writing), which only gets higher at the top ranks.

Fighters are the bruisers of Mobile Legends – strong, durable heroes who balance damage and survivability as the best of both worlds. They are often either melee or mid-range, excelling in 1v1 duels and smaller skirmishes. 

With their high durability but slightly less damage potential, they sit somewhere between the Assassin and Tank roles as a hybrid brawler. Their well-rounded stats often enable them to act as an off-Tank or second-damage carry. A Fighter’s damage will snowball over time, becoming a major threat the longer a game goes on. 

Some of the best heroes in Mobile Legends for fans of the Fighter class as of January 2026 include: Sora, Frefrinn, Freya, Leomord, and Guinevere. Yin Sun-shin once again returns, but this time as one of the best Marksman heroes, boasting a ban rate of just under 40% for the past 30 days. Ixia, with her consistency throughout a match and effectiveness in a team fight, also makes her a great Marksman option.

Supports are the lifeline of their team in Mobile Legends, often the unsung heroes behind every winning game. While they won’t top the damage charts like Marksmen or Assassins, they play a vital part in carrying the team. 

Similar to Supports in League of Legends, the Support in MLBB will be in the same lane as their Marksman and aid in the carry’s growth as the game progresses. Their responsibilities include healing, shielding, buffing, and crowd control to enable better positioning and survival for their allies.
