RFRSH Entertainment is looking to hit one more city with its BLAST Pro Series before it sees 2018 out, and it has chosen Lisbon, Portugal as the destination.

Taking place on December 14-15th, BLAST Pro Series Lisbon has already invited five of the six teams that will be in attendance: Astralis, Cloud9, FaZe Clan, MIBR, and Ninjas in Pyjamas.

The next stop in BLAST Pro Series’ calendar is Copenhagen, Denmark on November 2nd-3rd. $250,000 (£195,775) is up for grabs, with all five teams that have been announced for Lisbon competing there too.

Jordi Roig, Executive Producer of BLAST Pro Series said: “Just like the previous events and the upcoming tournament in Copenhagen, we expect all tickets to be sold before the event day, and I really believe the Portuguese fans to create an electric atmosphere in Altice Arena. We can promise the audience an experience they will not forget and that they will not get anywhere else – not in esports and not in any other form of live entertainment. BLAST is truly so much more than just a tournament and we can’t way to officially have Lisbon on the global BLAST Pro Series series calendar this year and in the years to come.”

The tournament organiser also announced that it will head to three new cities in Spring 2019. The competition will head to Sao Paulo, Brazil in March, Miami, USA in April, and Madrid, Spain in May.

Esports Insider says: It may seem a little isolated and closed off when you consider the same teams are attending numerous BLAST Pro Series events, but using the same teams each time allows for an accurate comparison of the development and progression that’s being made throughout time at these tournaments. Nonetheless, it’d be nice for some other top teams – such as Team Liquid and mousesports – to get involved at some point to freshen things up.
