NBA 2K League welcomes Snickers partnership

NBA 2K League has announced a partnership with Snickers, making the Mars, Incorporated brand its official chocolate bar.

The partnership will see Snickers present the ‘Hungriest Player to Watch’ segment, a part of the broadcast that highlights the player “who has the most on the line” and “the most to prove.”

The deal will span the rest of the 2019 season, including the playoffs and finals which start on July 24th and August 3rd respectively.

Josh Olken, Brand Director of Snickers told Esports Insider: “With the ‘Hungriest Player to Watch,’ we hope to give NBA 2K fans a satisfying viewing experience during each game.

This isn’t Snickers’ first rodeo in esports. Earlier this year, it was announced alongside Bose and New Era as a sponsor of the Madden NFL 19 Championship Series. In 2018, it returned as a sponsor of the Rocket League Championship Series in August and became the official chocolate of FlyQuest in January.

This deal sees Snickers join AT&T, Champion, DellHyperX, Intel, Raynor Gaming, SCUF Gaming, Twitch, Facebook, Stance, New Era, and YouTube as a partner of the league.

Esports Insider says: Snickers has come in and out of esports quite a bit over the past few years so it’ll be interesting to see if it stays with the NBA 2K League once the season is over and done with. Sponsored segments on broadcasts are quite typical these days but this particular segment will identify an interesting storyline during each broadcast so hopefully this one can stick around.
