Wendy Lecot, Head of Strategic Partnerships for HyperX had this to say about the partnership: “The Esports Initiative of the CIF is opening doors for high school students. As part of our amateur esports athlete outreach, HyperX is excited to support their shared vision to unlock the potential of these esports players in California. Through competitive gameplay, players build character and maintain wellness as part of their journey to become the next generation of talent in the gaming industry.”

At the start of December, HyperX was announced as the exclusive peripheral and internals sponsor of the 2020 Collegiate StarLeague season. HyperX will provide products as prizes for the weekly and monthly events as part of the deal.

Ron Nocetti, Executive Director of CIF also commented on the partnership: “We welcome HyperX to the CIF esports family. We look forward to partnering for the benefit of our students and member schools.”

Founded in 1914, the California Interscholastic Federation is the governing body for high school sports in California. Its esports initiative is also supported by OMEN by HP, NVIDIA, and the Marines Corps.

Esports Insider says: This provides HyperX with a great opportunity to get its products in the hands of young gamers at an age when brand favouritism starts to become a major part of their identity. On the flip side, it’s good to see CIF’s esports efforts get some substantial support from an endemic company.
