TeamSpeak sponsors Staffordshire University esports degree programs

TeamSpeak has partnered with Staffordshire University to integrate its audio communication platform into the school’s BA (Hons) Esports and MA Esports degrees.

Students will have access to TeamSpeak as part of professional setups for broadcasting and esports tournaments as part of their education.

Staffordshire University introduced the UK’s first esports degree at its Stoke-on-Trent campus in 2018. The University has since founded Digital Institute London which also offers courses in esports and other digital degrees.

Professor Ieuan Ellis, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Staffordshire University, commented on the partnership in a release: “Staffordshire University is a digitally leading provider of higher education strongly connected to the technology and games industries. We are delighted to be partnering with TeamSpeak to provide our esports students with access to sector-leading software to support their learning experience.”

TeamSpeak’s latest partnership is one of several it has made in the education sector. According to s release, TeamSpeak recently embarked on a “large-scale project” to provide competitive voice comms for “all High School Esports in the USA, with the ultimate goal of supplying colleges and college leagues around the world.”

The company’s website lists Caltech and The University of Bamberg in Bamberg, Germany as sponsored organisations.
