Talent management and representation agency Collective Artists Network has partnered with Indian esports organisation Global eSports to represent the team across its sponsorship portfolio.
Collective Artists Network snapped up fellow Indian esports organisation Revenant Esports in 2021. The corporation’s CEO said in a statement that the move towards representing esports teams was part of the company’s ambitions for “disruptive growth.”
Global eSports has a combined social reach of around 250,000, and fields 12 teams across a range of competitive titles, including Overwatch, CS:GO, and Fortnite. Its most successful roster competes in Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI).
The organisation is the only South Asian team selected as one of 30 franchisees for the upcoming VALORANT Champions Tour, which starts in February 2023. It owns a 10-man roster that will bootcamp in Korea ahead of the new season. The move has involved high-profile acquisitions from European squads, and the training alone will cost around $500,000 (~£433,000), according to Global eSports’ CEO.
Collective Artists Network represents Indian brands by offering opportunities for partnerships, as well as strategic advice and content agency work. While Collective Artists Network is focusing on India, it is by no means the only large talent agency to engage with the esports industry. Montreal-based talent agency Dulcedo Management acquired esports marketing firm C4G in June.
Commenting on the announcement, Vijay Subramaniam, Group CEO and Founder of Collective Artists Network, said he was proud to have the team onboard, and believed that Global eSports’ comparatively long legacy was a force to reckon with.
