Esports Insider has released Edition 12 of its print magazine The Esports Journal (ESJ).

The latest edition of the ESJ, which focuses on the state of the industry in 2023, is available to read online for free, or purchase in print, on Esports Insider’s website.

Edition 12 of The Esports Journal takes a look at the companies and personnel contending with — and building and innovating in spite of — a difficult macroeconomic environment and a softening of investor sentiment in esports.

Print copies of The Esports Journal are available for purchase through Esports Insider’s marketplace for £12, while an online version of the magazine is available to read digitally for free. Print copies will also be distributed at future Esports Insider events, including ESI London and ESI Singapore.

This edition’s headline article takes stock of the state of the industry in 2023, followed by dives into the VALORANT and Overwatch scenes amid major changes to their ecosystems.

It features an inside look into the debut of GRID and Riot Games’ brand new VALORANT data portal; a foray into female esports, Brazilian esports, mobile esports, youth esports, betting in esports and much more.

We talked to Esports Youth Club, who are amongst those leading the charge of social enterprises in esports in the UK, and chatted to the first cohort of Esports Production students as they graduate from Confetti. Inside, you’ll also find interviews with ESL, the NHL, Supercell, Ross Video, Bayes Esports, American Public University, WIGI and far, far more.

Sam Cooke, Managing Director & Co-Founder of Esports Insider, commented on the release of ESJ Edition 12: “We’re thrilled to release the latest edition of The Esports Journal, which offers a deep dive into some of the industry’s challenges and opportunities in 2023. It’s more important now than ever to stay informed about the latest developments and innovations in esports.

“We’re proud to offer a platform for industry leaders and innovators to share their insights and ideas, and we hope you enjoy sitting down and flipping through 19 features worth of insightful content.”

Elsewhere, Esports Insider recently announced the launch of the ESI Film Festival, and creator economy event checkpoint, two events taking place at ESI London that widen the remit of ESI Events to film and the creator industry.
