Game data platform GRID and game publisher Ubisoft have launched the first-ever data portal for Rainbow Six Siege esports professional teams.
Called the Rainbow Six Siege Data Portal (R6DP), BLAST R6 esports professional teams will be given free of charge access to the platform. The R6DP allows organisations to search, query, filter or download data from matches.
Moreover, the platform will enable fully automated ingestion and allows private data access through an application-based user interface.
According to a release, the aim of the R6DP is to allow organisations to make better player evaluations and analyses. With the implementation of the data portal, the two companies are looking to bolster their multi-year partnership signed last year by unlocking new data-driven opportunities.
The esports title recently achieved record-breaking viewership earlier this year via the Six Invitational 2024 in São Paulo, Brazil. The tournament became the most viewed R6 Siege esports event, peaking at 521,349 and hitting an average viewership of nearly 110,000 people.
On the back of this success, professional teams will get to utilise the R6DP during Stage 1 of the Rainbow Six 2024 Season, which is taking place in March and April. The top teams from each region will qualify for BLAST R6 Major Manchester 2024 in May.
Founded in 2018, GRID is one of the leading game data platforms in the esports space. It has partnered up with various tournament organisers and game publishers in the past, including Riot Games with the VALORANT Data Portal.
Recently, the company has been establishing several partnerships with stakeholders in the industry. Last month, GRID partnered up with KeSPA, becoming the first data partner for the South Korean esports federation.
So far in 2024, the data company also announced partnerships with broadcast company LTN, fantasy esports platform E-GO App, and extended its esports data collaboration with betting company DATA.BET in February.
Moritz Mauer, Founder & CEO of GRID. commented on the data portal’s launch: “Rainbow Six Siege is such a highly tactical game where in-game data access is critical for teams to employ the best strategies.
“We’re proud to be partnered with Ubisoft on their journey to create incredible esports experiences and provide technology to enhance the competition through access to the official match data for their professional teams.”
