Swiss esports organisation Team BDS has partnered with anime series My Hero Academia to launch a merchandise collection.
According to the announcement, the limited-edition collection will include T-shirts and hoodies with the first drop coming out on April 10th.
Team BDS has noted that the partnership will look to merge esports and anime fandoms by offering fans an “immersive experience where the power of camaraderie and self-transcendence is celebrated in style”. As a result, fans will have the chance to make their own range of products and showcase the aesthetics of both brands.
In the last 12 months, Team BDS has put a significant focus on its merchandise, offering accessories such as flags, mugs, keyrings, joystick stickers, and clogs. At the end of last year, it forged a partnership with sportswear brand Kappa for its co-branded jerseys. Before that, it had collaborated on a collection with Champion.
My Hero Academia joins BDS’ growing list of partners, which also includes French football club Olympique de Marseille (OM), gaming hardware brand Logitech G, Swiss Web3 esports organisation XBorg, sporting retailer INTERSPORT, and gaming moderation solutions company Bodyguard.ai.
This is also not the first time that My Hero Academia has collaborated with an esports organisation. In 2022, TSM teamed up with Crunchyroll to launch a range of My Hero Academia apparel. Other popular animes such as Fullmetal Alchemist, Attack on Titan, Naruto, One Piece and Dragon Ball partnered with esports organisations in the past.
Jocelyn Roux, Managing director and Head of Legal at Team BDS, commented: “We’re extremely excited to be collaborating with My Hero Academia.
“MHA embodies the values of courage, determination, and solidarity, values we deeply share at Team BDS. This collaboration is more than just a collection of products – it’s a celebration of the strength and competitive spirit that unite our two communities.”
