Jan Hoffmann joins ELO Agency as VP of Operations

Esports agency ELO Agency has announced the appointment of Jan Hoffmann as its Vice President of Operations.

Hoffmann will work alongside notable esports stakeholders such as Roald van Buuren, Jan Moerland and Wouter Sleijffers at the recently founded company.

Similar to ELO CCO Wouter Sleijffers and CEO Roald van Buuren, Hoffmann has notable experience at UK-based esports organisation Fnatic. During his four-year tenure at Fnatic, Hoffmann led the company’s team operations segment before joining Rix.GG as CEO. His most recent position was as Head of Operations at Nigma.

Hoffmann joins experienced esports professionals at ELO, an agency focused on event organisation, strategy and research, and brand activations in the esports space. Roald Van Buuren and Jan Moerland founded the company in April 2024. Its leadership team was further expanded by the addition of Sleijffers in July 2024.

Before founding ELO Agency, van Buuren spent a decade as the Director of Esports at esports tournament platform FACEIT. Moerland worked as FACEIT’s League Operations Manager before spending close to two years as a Tournament Manager for the ESL FACEIT Group.

The company did not share many details about Hoffmann’s tasks after his joining, but did mention that “he will apply his operational background to ELO with the goal of bringing extraordinary esports experiences to life.”

Jan Hoffmann, VP of Operations at ELO Agency, commented on his appointment: “I am really happy to be a part of the ELO team. There are few people in the industry with the amount of experience that Roald, Wouter and Jan bring to the table. I am very excited to get to work with them on exciting projects and be part of esports’ growth .”
