Car manufacturer and partner of the League of Legends World Championship Mercedes-Benz has announced plans for this year’s trophy carrier and plans for a trophy tour around Europe.

The new electric G-Class SUV will be used as the official trophy carrier vehicle for the World Championship, and will carry the trophy between the three Worlds locations: Berlin, Paris and London.

Mercedes-Benz is a well-known partner of Riot Games, and one of the major partners for the LoL World Championship since 2020. The car brand has worked with Riot Games as a presenting partner and an official automotive partner, providing transportation for teams and staff during Worlds events in the last four years.

This time around, Mercedes-Benz has partnered with Riot Games to be the official trophy carrier for the event. As Worlds 2024 is taking place across three host cities, Mercedes-Benz will use its latest G-Class model to carry the trophy between the venues, including the Grand Finals in London, England. This will also serve as a promotion for the electric G-Class, the latest version of one of the most notable Mercedes-Benz models ever, in production since 1979.

The car brand has modified an existing G-Class through its MANUFAKTUR programme to include various League of Legends details, such as the Worlds logo stitched in the interior and a trunk designed around the Summoner’s Cup, the Worlds Trophy.

Mercedes-Benz will also provide the winning team with a set of Worlds champion rings and will launch a new campaign globally to celebrate its partnership with Riot Games and the event.

Bettina Fetzer, Vice President Communications & Marketing at Mercedes-Benz AG, said: “As a long-standing partner of League of Legends Worlds, we are particularly excited to welcome one of the world’s biggest esports events in Berlin, Paris and London.

“Together with Riot, we are looking forward to creating unique and memorable moments for the community and to making the world believe in the outstanding performance of all athletes participating.”
