The final week of online qualifiers for the 2024/25 Call of Duty League (CDL) season has come to a close, with franchises looking to secure a place in the winner’s bracket for CDL Major 4, the fourth and final Major.
This particular week of qualifying matches also marks the end of online competition for the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 season, as focus turns towards LAN events for the remainder of the competition.
Similar to the second week of qualifiers, the league’s top franchises cemented their position at the top of the table, with one managing to complete the qualifying phase without recording a single loss.
Just like the two previous weeks of qualifiers for CDL Major 4, all 12 franchises competed in either one or two matches to bag a high seed for the final Major of the season and CDL Points to secure one of eight places at the season-ending Championship Weekend.
Miami Heretics Goes Undefeated
Building on from the momentum generated during the week two qualifiers, Miami Heretics continued its strong run of form with victory across all five of its week three matches.
The all-Spanish roster successfully secured an unbeaten qualifier with a comfortable 3-0 sweep of the Carolina Royal Ravens, alongside another ten CDL Points, pushing the team closer to Champs qualification.
Throughout 2025, the franchise has shown glimmers of potential when competing against the best North American rosters and as the season comes to a close, it appears Miami has found form at the right time.
Has OpTic Texas Turned a Corner?
Following the signing of Mason ‘Mercules’ Ramsay, fan-favourite franchise OpTic Texas continues to battle in a competitive midfield for one of the four remaining places at Championship Weekend.
Week three qualifiers for CDL Major 4 didn’t begin on the front foot after the Green Wall was knocked down by Los Angeles Guerrillas M8, thanks to a narrow 3-2 defeat.
Despite the loss, OpTic Texas quickly rebounded with a clinical 3-0 victory against Toronto Ultra, showing signs that the 2024 CDL Champions could find the form that’s been missing for the majority of the Black Ops 6 season.
Kenny Sets S&D K/D Record
After departing OpTic Texas, Kenny ‘Kenny’ Williams made the switch to Minnesota Rokkr in a bid to lock in a Champs slot and rediscover the form lost earlier in the season.
During the second map against Vancouver Surge, Kenny managed to show why he’s still considered one of the best players in the CDL with a flawless Search & Destroy performance, scoring eleven eliminations without a death.
The performance set a new CDL K/D (kill-to-death) ratio record in the one-life game mode. Despite the best efforts of Kenny, Minnesota were defeated 3-1 by Vancouver, all but ruling the franchise out of Champs qualification.
