LEVIATÁN has announced the signing of former M80 VALORANT players Anthony ‘okeanos’ Nguyen and Eduardo ‘Sato’ Sato.
The Argentinian esports organisation revealed that the new roster will compete in the upcoming Esports World Cup 2025 (EWC) Americas Qualifier.
Yesterday (May 14th), M80 revealed that the two players were ‘transferred to a new and exciting opportunity.’
The North American esports organisation has undergone numerous roster and staff changes after failing to advance to the tier-one VCT Americas circuit two years in a row. M80 claimed second place at the VCT Ascension Americas tournaments in 2023 and 2024.
However, as proven by its dominating performance in the regional VALORANT Challengers circuit, the team has consistently cultivated promising talent. Both okeanos and Sato only joined M80 in January this year and have now signed with their first tier-one organisation.
“Very happy to be here with mi chicos. Okeanos such a big fan of mine that he can’t stop following me around zzz,” shared Sato on his personal social media.
LEVIATÁN’s Struggles in VCT 2025
So far in 2025, LEVIATÁN has struggled competitively despite its secure spot in VCT Americas as a Partner Team.
With a star roster, including the likes of Erick ‘aspas’ Santos, the team reached new heights during the 2024 competitive season. LEVIATÁN won the VCT Americas Stage 2 and secured third place at Champions 2024.
After major roster changes ahead of this year’s season, the team failed to qualify for both international Masters events in Bangkok and Toronto. As a consequence, LEVIATÁN benched Daniel ‘Rossy’ Abedrabbo and 2023 Champions winner Max ‘Demon1’ Mazanov.
With okeanos and Sato filling the gaps in LEVIATÁN’s roster, the Argentinian team has set its sights on the EWC 2025 VALORANT event. The competition will take place from July 8th-13th, offering a $1.2m (~£903,000) prize pool.
However, due to its lacklustre performance in VCT Stage 1, LEVIATÁN must first make it through the Americas Qualifier, which kicks off tomorrow.
