Rainbow Six Siege X has teased on X that it’s next collaboration will be with the iconic looter shooter franchise, Borderlands.

More information surrounding the event is scheduled to be revealed on July 15th, 2025, confirming previous leaks shared online speculating about the collaboration.

Not much was shared during the trailer, except for an in-game look at the new Borderlands-themed skin, featuring the male Psycho-Bandit that has become the poster boy of the franchise. There was also a glimpse of a weapon skin with cell-shading similar to the Borderlands series’ style, and a potential MVP animation with a dropped lighter.

Borderlands has now become the first collaboration brand to arrive to Rainbow Six Siege since it launched the Siege X update, which brought enhanced visuals, audio, round-based bans and more to the game.

Rumours began to spiral online surrounding a potential Borderlands event during the R6 RE:LO:AD tournament in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, back in May earlier this year. As reported by Siege.GG, users noticed a Borderlands-themed mask from Lee “GoodBoy” Ji-heon’s perspective during a match between BNK FEARX and G2 Esports.

Game Post then shared that leaks have also been shared online surrounding the skins that may potentially arrive in the game. The screenshots allege that Mozzie will receive a Male Psycho Bandit skin, and IQ will receive a Lilith skin. In addition, Mozzie’s Commando-9 assault rifle and IQ’s 552 Commando assault rifle will both supposedly receive Borderlands-themed gun skins. Ubisoft has yet to confirm the legitimacy of these leaks.

It is not the first time that Rainbow Six Siege has released collaboration skins for other franchises. Long-time fans may remember Sledge’s Master Chief elite skin for Halo and Ash’s Lara Croft elite skin for The Tomb Raider.

Ubisoft has not shared if any esports activations will be available during the crossover’s launch. However, Rainbow Six Siege X will have several esports events in the coming weeks, such as Element Five running until August 3rd, the tier-two R6 Central Combine and the upcoming tournament during the Esports World Cup from August 5th to 9th, 2025.
