Sim racing title Rennsport has overhauled its pricing model ahead of its full release on PC and consoles later in 2025.
The game entered early access in December 2024, using a free-to-enter model where players can purchase additional content through the in-game store.
Ahead of its cross-platform launch, Rennsport has moved away from the free-to-play model in favour of a ‘boxed’ model. This will see players have the option to purchase standard and deluxe editions. Alongside the two editions, the title will continue to offer a limited free-to-enter version on PC.
In addition to moving to a new retail model, Rennsport’s battle pass feature is also being discontinued before the v1.0 update releases in Q4 of 2025.
Players who purchased Gold and Platinum Founder’s Packs during the title’s early access period will receive a free copy of Rennsport’s standard edition. Those who purchased the Diamond Founder’s Pack will receive the deluxe edition which includes two DLC packs.
The standard edition will include 18 cars and 13 tracks, while the deluxe edition features all of the base game content, the Nurburgring Nordschleife track, Porsche 911 GT3 R, and access to the two DLC packs set to release in late 2025 and early 2026.
RENN$, Rennsport’s in-game currency, will also transfer over from early access to the full release.
The Future Of Rennsport Esports
Since the title was revealed, Rennsport has focused its efforts on using esports to promote the title.
From March to July, the Rennsport R1 2025 Spring Season has featured 12 organisations competing for nine places at the the Rennsport R1 Major which formed part of the Esports World Cup. Team Redline won the event, taking home $200,000 (~£148,469) in prize money.
Following the conclusion of the Spring season in Riyadh, Rennsport has yet to share details surrounding the future of the title’s esports scene. It’s unclear if another season will take place before 2025 comes to an end.
