Luminosity Gaming is set to be acquired by gaming and lifestyle company Vertiqal Studios following the esports organisation’s divestment from Enthusiast Gaming.

The North American esports organisation is one of two acquisitions by the digital channel network, which is also set to acquire Enthusiast Gaming-owned YouTube network Omnia.

As a result of the acquisition, Vertiqal Studios has expanded its presence across YouTube, Twitch, and other social media platforms with the scaling of cross-platform capabilities, complementing its existing offerings on TikTok and Snapchat.

The acquisition follows Enthusiast Gaming divesting from Luminosity Gaming after its CEO revealed that the organisation wasn’t part of the company’s future within its Q2 2025 earnings.

With Luminosity Gaming no longer part of the Enthusiast Gaming portfolio, the company will switch its focus to its other products, which include Icy Veins and online mobile game publication Pocket Gamer.

“This acquisition represents a significant step forward for Vertiqal, allowing us to scale with existing customers full-funnel across the digital advertising ecosystem,” said Jon Dwyer, Chairman and CEO of Vertiqal.

“We’re not just adding two powerhouse brands; we’re integrating platforms, audiences, and sales capabilities that will redefine our offering in the market.”

Vertiqal Studios will purchase Luminosity Gaming and Omnia for C$900,000 (~£480,487) with the deal set to close on September 5th, 2025.

What Next For Luminosity Gaming?

The acquisition of Luminosity Gaming marks a new chapter for one of North America’s most recognisable names. The organisation rose to fame in 2016 when it won the MLG Columbus Counter-Strike Major, along with fielding teams across several titles, including Super Smash Bros. and Call of Duty.

In June, the organisation departed the Rainbow Six esports scene after its in-game cosmetics were removed from the in-game store. Its former roster continues to compete in the North America League under the Orgless banner

With Vertiqal Studios focusing on its established Twitch presence, it’s unclear whether the organisation will depart esports or continue to compete in competitions across the globe.

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
