Web3 development studio Moku is making an entrance into the world of AI entertainment space with the launch of Season One of Grand Arena.
The company is backing its ambition with a $1m (£780,000) reward pool for the platform’s inaugural season. Grand Arena’s core premise is the creation of a new, never-closing sports league where the competitors are not humans but AI entities, known as ‘AI athletes’.
Moku NFTs Generate Royalties in AI-Driven Fantasy Arena
Unlike traditional fantasy leagues that depend on seasonal games and schedules, Grand Arena is designed to run 24/7 contests. AI-driven characters engage in continuous battles, generating real-time data for prediction and speculation.
This creates a continuous prediction market where users can draft lineups and speculate on results at any time.
The company sees Grand Arena positioned at the crossroads of three growth markets — the fantasy sports sector, the prediction market and AI gaming.
“We’re taking daily fantasy 24/7 with Grand Arena. By guaranteeing $1m from day one, we’re signalling our belief that AI entertainment can rival traditional sports and prediction markets,” said Hantao Yuan, co-founder of Moku.
The Grand Arena ecosystem will be fueled by NFT and card-trading mechanics, where owning specific NFTs during a process called the ‘Champion Selection’ can earn royalties from in-platform transactions, giving holders a share in the ecosystem’s growth.
Founded in 2021 and backed by a16z Speedrun, Moku has built large-scale distribution engines and blended creative IP with blockchain communities. In addition to the contest and prize pool, Moku is also rolling out mechanics to anchor community ownership through NFTs.
