Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB)’s esports plan for 2026 was revealed during the M7 World Championship Grand Finals, including big steps towards global expansion.
MLBB is adding multiple ‘intercontinental tournaments’ across the Americas, Europe and Southeast Asia, which make up the new Championship Tour. This follows the M7 World Championship, which started the year strong with a new mobile esports viewership record of 5.68 million peak concurrent viewers.
The 2026 MLBB esports roadmap includes five regions, with a massive focus on international expansion. MOONTON’s goal is to reach 70 regions, stage over 5,000 events, and surpass 600 million hours watched in 2026, according to a press release. Alongside the championship tours, the MLBB esports ecosystem will still operate its franchised/partner MPL leagues. This includes the newly franchised MPL Malaysia.
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang has been rapidly increasing in popularity across Southeast Asia, but MOONTON is hoping to replicate the same hype in other regions. As such, the M8 World Championship Finals will be held in Turkey, the first-ever European-based MLBB tournament.
Other big events to keep an eye on in 2026 include the Esports Nations Cup, which has MLBB as the first confirmed title. It’s not a surprising move after Mobile Legends: Bang Bang made up nearly one-third of the Esports World Cup’s total viewership.
MLBB will also be a medal event at the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026, another milestone for the mobile MOBA.
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang in five regions in 2026
For the first time in its nine-year history, MLBB will transition to a five-region structure in 2026. This includes:
- Southeast Asia
- Eastern Europe and Central Asia
- Europe, Middle East and Africa
- East Asia
- Americas
“This framework unifies the global MLBB Esports ecosystem while empowering each region through tailored infrastructure and talent development pathways,” wrote MOONTON.
“At the heart of the plan is the Championship Tour, an intercontinental tournament piloting across AMER, EA and SEA to elevate regional competition and spotlight emerging talent. The shift to a region-focused model reflects MLBB Esports’ ambition to balance local development with global integration, where each region upholds the strength of the global ecosystem.”

By January 2027, the season will end in Turkey with the M8 Finals. This is a huge move for MLBB, which has largely held tournaments in Southeast Asia until now. MOONTON’s goal is to bring Mobile Legends: Bang Bang into more regions, and it’s ‘confident’ the game will grow thanks to its integrated, connected ecosystem.
On top of the new regional tournaments, fans can expect some staple events, including the 2026 Esports World Cup (EWC). The Mid-Season Cup and the Women’s Invitational will both take place during the summer-long event.
