Saudi esports organisation Geekay Esports has announced its return to the Rainbow Six Siege (R6) Europe MENA League as an affiliate team for the 2026 season.
The promotion to the main regional stage follows a successful 2025 run in the Tier-2 European League.
The Europe MENA League is one of five regional leagues in the R6 esports circuit, where the top teams from Europe, the Middle East and North Africa compete to earn Global Points and qualify for upcoming majors. The league also serves as a pathway to the season’s crowning event, the Six Invitational (SI), for the best-performing teams.
“We’re pleased to announce that Geekay Esports returns to R6 Europe MENA League as a BLAST R6 Esports 2026 season affiliate team,” Geekay Esports stated on X (Twitter). “After the successful 2025 season in the European tier 2 scene we’re excited to prove ourselves on the big stage.”
Geekay Esports’ last appearance in the Europe MENA League was in the 2025 Challenger Series, which took place from April 10th to May 4th. Back then, the organisation placed sixth and failed to reach the Europe MENA League for 2025.
Geekay Esports historically competed in the MENA League from 2023 to late 2024. However, Ubisoft merged the league with Europe for the 2025 season as part of its efforts to streamline the ecosystem from nine to four regions.
In 2025, Geekay Esports won several Tier-2 events. It placed first in the Saudi eLeague 2025 Major 2 after defeating Twisted Minds 3-2 in the Grand Finals, won 3-0 against Team Secret in the R6 Central Combine 2025, and secured the R6 North Rainbow Rumble 2025 title last August.
In a post online, Kishan Deepak Palija, CEO of Geekay Esports, said: “As I said, 2026 is a big year. After our success in Rocket League, Overwatch, PUBG, Fortnite, EA FC and Honor of Kings, we are now ready to dominate R6.”
Geekay Esports will face fierce competition in the Europe MENA League, which boasts top teams such as SI 2025 runner-ups Team BDS, along with SI 2019 and 2023 champion G2 Esports.
R6 Esports in 2026
Following the conclusion of the SI 2026, which saw FaZe Clan defeat Team Secret to become back-to-back champions, the R6 esports scene prepares for another year of competitive play.
R6 developer Ubisoft and tournament organiser BLAST have extended their partnership until the end of the 2028/2029 season. Additionally, R6 Majors will take place in the US and Japan, while Brazil will be the host country for SI 2027.
Furthermore, the 2026/2027 season will see China become a new regional league for R6 esports, standing alongside Europe MENA, North America, South America, and Asia Pacific.
The full 2026/2027 roadmap was also revealed by Ubisoft last December, with the Season Kickoff Regionals beginning in April 2026 and ending with SI 2027 next February.
